Reflections from Scotland
From Lucy:
Well what an amazing experience. This was my first yoga retreat, and from the very first moments there was laughter, welcome, kindness and openness to whatever the following days would offer. The days were full, lots of yoga, meditation, restorative sessions, and still time for quiet, for exploring the monastery of Samye Ling, experiencing the atmosphere of calm, and for heading out into the magnificent countryside beyond. Our group of 16, some familiar faces and some new friends bonded immediately, a credit to Kishe who organised everything beautifully and welcomed us all. The yoga sessions were outstanding, and as in all Kishe’s classes, every individual was cared for, encouraged and gently improved, in accordance with their ability and previous experience. The benefits of this time together will be felt for weeks and months to come, the friendship, the joy and the celebration of life which is engendered by all that Kishe brings to her knowledge and sharing of the Iyengar practice. I feel so happy to have been a part of such a rare experience.
From Mary;
It felt like a pocket of peace; time to reset, rebalance, recoup and I loved it so much! I was pretty exhausted when I arrived and worried that I might just sleep and go a bit catatonic for a few days. But it wasn’t like that at all. They days were full of learning, new challenges and work but it felt restorative, not depleting. The setting was amazing. The site radiated quiet kindness. The people were welcoming and calm, the food was delicious and generous. I loved the group, everyone was so open and supportive and fun! And you were our wonderful guide. I really enjoyed all the yoga and meditation sessions with you Kishe. Thank you for including me even though I was a total novice at Iyengar yoga. It was challenging but great to try things and see what my mind and body can do at this point.
Thank you for facilitating such a wonderful time for all of us Kishe. If you decide to plan another one, let me know!
From Erica;
Samye Ling and the guidance and innate wisdom of Kishe’s practice and retreat leave me with a heart full of gratitude, peace and deep connection inward and outward.
I can’t quite put into words how profound this gathering and location have impacted my life because there is simply nothing comparable.
The discipline and patient precision of Kishe’s Iyengar guidance combined with inner psychic work of pranayama and meditation gifts the body and mind with true peace and fulfillment. Samye Ling adds to that peace and shows us the riches of simplicity and mindfulness. The surroundings of beautiful Scotland create a heaven on Earth amongst it all, untouched and pure.
I await the next marvel, treasuring all I have learnt.
Thank you for it all
From Josephine;
I wanted to reach out and express my sincere gratitude to you. Thank you for allowing me to share in your inaugural retreat.
I thought it was special and you attract who you are. A very loving and supportive group. Independent and considerate in their process; your students love and respect your approach. I felt privileged to be included.
Keep me in the loop for next and please add me to your mailing list.
I hope going forward I can get a focus back to regular practice. I love Iyengar.
From Emma;
This was such a fabulous experience, one of the best things I’ve ever done.
I’ve never been on a retreat before and will admit I was daunted, but none of my perceptions or fears were necessary as Kishe, the group, the location, the amount of yoga, the breaks, the food, the facilities, the energy, the chat, the love! were all just perfect.
Kishe guided and held us all so beautifully with experience and grace.
I don’t know how you do it, but you do it just right. Holding this space, and the characters within it, whilst they explore and reflect in a myriad of personal ways, is a special gift.
I’m ever grateful and looking forward to getting back on the mat and future retreats (re-treat = the act of treating oneself to a Kishe retreat every now and then)
