I know! We expect a lot of our students when it comes to the tools of practice – but it is for good reason, so we can ALL gain the boons and benefits of a deeply penetrating yoga practice. Why not have a yoga bag that serves your needs well….You don’t need to navigate the thousands of options on the internet ( but if you do..choose reputable retailers like Yoga Matters, Yoga Mad) you can keep it simple and purchase from my own shop! Basic Kit; Mat & 2x Foam blocks
Better kit; mat, 2x foams, a brick, belt, blanket.
For Sarvangasana/shoulderstand add 2 more foam blocks.
For restorative practice add a bolster ( and a chair!)

Support, stabilise and align your body with this lightweight yoga block. Sit on one to raise your hips for a straighter spine or put four together for a classic shoulder stand support.
Bricks are ideal for adding lift or grounding in all manner of poses. They can help stabilise and add height in standing and balancing poses or can be placed between the knees to activate the outer leg muscles.
Belts are regularly used in forward bends to extend and lengthen reach. Also used effectively to hold elbows in place in inversion poses. Hold legs close in restorative work. Actually, loads of possibilities! This classic cotton belt, with its sliding bar metal buckle, is a favourite in Iyengar institutes(and village halls!) across the world.

Blankets made from indian cotton, beautiful and soft natural yarn. We use these blankets in our practice every session, to simply bring softness and quietness to the head in savasana or to providing a comfortable support in shoulder stand, and all manner of half, quarter, triple fold permutations for supporting our asana and pranayama practice. Lush thrown over the sofa too!! Machine washable.
Bolsters This rectangular bolster offers greater width and a flatter surface for supine and restorative postures. The flat surface supports the back and can also be used to raise the hips when sitting, placed length ways under the mid back to open up the chest and for support in shoulder stand variations (particularly chair sarvangasana).. Treat yourself. (I also stock the cylindrical bolsters).

The Yoga Kit bag is designed to take a full range of yoga equipment, such as is commonly used in Iyengar yoga – the bag will accommodate 4 foam blocks, 1 mat, 2 bricks, 1 blanket and 1 belt. The long handles mean the bag can be carried by hand, over the shoulder or like a rucksack, or for those of you who have a bolster it fits perfectly here.
