SRI LANKA LUXURY YOGA AND SPA BREAK
at Jim’s Farm Villas
Revised date due to Coronavirus – September 19th – 29th 2020
Having seen this week’s Government announcements on Coronavirus, it’s probable that May 15th/May 25th will be near the peak time for infections here in the UK.
As such, it’s most unlikely that you will want to risk traveling at that time.
Indeed many of us may well be affected or in isolation during this period. Sorry to be so blunt !
I’m thus suggesting- and Kishe has concurred- that we should plan on delaying your Yoga Retreat to the autumn.
We’re recommending flights out to Colombo on Sat 19th September 2020, with flights home on Tues 29th September 2020.
Most medical forecasters suggest that the global Coronavirus infection should be significantly abated by then, with life returning to more normal conditions. Sri Lankan Airlines is offering a free service to change your flight dates: so no extra charges payable.
For students who cannot make the new September dates, these restrictions should mean that your Travel Insurance will cover the cost of both your flight and Retreat costs.
Everything I’ve read indicates that our Coronavirus contagion will continue to grow over the next 6-8 weeks, when some 20% of us could be infected at peak contagion. Even with a “lock down” in China, it took nearly 10 weeks to peak. China is only now relaxing controls after 4 months of infections.
We’re only in Week 3 of cases: 4 months as per China’s success takes us to end June, before we may see a more relaxed regime evolve. In the meantime I’m sure more restrictions will be implemented to reduce air travel’s potential contribution to virus spread.
It’s also in my view unlikely that the UK Government will actually ban all international travel: this is the only way that your Travel Insurance would recover the cost of your Flight and Yoga Retreat Fee.
Please advise whether you will be able to re-organise your diary, so that you can join us on these revised dates.
