Yoga and Ayurvedic spa break in the heart of Sri Lanka

Revised date September 19th – 29th 2020

The Location

Jim’s Farm Villas is a little bit of heaven located at the heart of the Sri Lankan Knuckles Mountain Range which is an area rich in bio-diversity, medicinal plants, archaeology, history and folklore. The area is also home to several rare species of animals and several endemic species of lizard, birds and fish. Everything here is green and lush!

Situated in the Sri Lankan Cultural Triangle you are within easy reach of many UNESCO world heritage sites, including the ancient cities of Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa, The Golden Temple of Dambulla, the sacred city of Kandy and The Temple of the Sacred Tooth. Cultural tours to each of these wonders of the world form part of your luxury holiday experience in Sri Lanka

The hotel is set in over 50 acres of land with thousands of coconut and banana palms, mango and papaya trees, and all manner of spices. More than 102 different species of birds have been spotted on the Farm including wild peacocks and
eagles. To help protect and enhance this beautiful environment, water is sourced from their own wells, which are fed from local mountain streams, reducing the need for plastic bottles. Solar panels on the roofs of the Villas provide guests hot water and there is a rainwater harvesting system to feed the lakes.

The Yoga

Join Kishe for two yoga classes each day. The morning will emphasise safe expression of poses through precision, alignment and correct adjustments of the body, building strong foundations to explore the more subtle nuances of the asanas as the week unfolds. Meeting again in the early evening for a more relaxing and restorative class attuning the mind to the body and body to the breath for daily pranayama.

There are two beautiful fully equipped yoga spaces. The covered pavilion with stunning views of the mountains designed to experience the amazing sunrise and sunset during class and an alternative indoor area with a beautiful soft sprung wooden floor.

Your Stay

Between classes there will be time to enjoy the local surroundings. You may like to relax by the pool, enjoy a fabulous Ayurvedic treatment or consultation in the Spa, explore the farm by bicycle or drive the tuk -tuks, play table tennis, volleyball or badminton.
