Edgar and Lydia discovered Iyengar Yoga over 20 years ago at Manchester University. Since then they have practised and studied yoga continuously in the UK and India, including many visits to the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune. They have been teaching for 17 years and are both Senior level 3 qualified teachers.
Together they run Yogatree providing weekly classes, workshops and special events in North Wiltshire. They also teach at Yoga West in Bristol where Edgar’s pranayama class and teachers/experienced class on a Friday is a challenging end of the week session. Lydia runs the intermediate classes there and also the intermediate teacher training workshops. Together they train teachers at introductory level and mentor even more students at regular classes. Lydia and Edgar enjoy teaching and learning yoga and their enthusiasm for the subject is reflected in their classes, which are lively, focused and rejuvenating. Edgar and Lydia’s teaching styles are distinct, yet complimentary. Their teaching experience enables them to respond appropriately to the needs of individuals in every group. They are invited to teach all over the country and run a regular retreat to Turkey and have been your wake up call at WOMAD in August for nearly 20 years. They will teach separately for us at Wildwood Yoga so we can really dig deeper into our practice as they bring their own unique style of teaching, serious, unassuming, clear, focused grounding practitioners.
Edgar guided us in a full day workshop on Sunday July 21st. He embed in us correct action in an active morning session before leading into our backbend work in the afternoon leaving us feeling yogaliscious after a full day’s practice. We leapt into a different level of your understanding of yoga under Edgar’s guidance. Edgar is an amazing teacher and practitioner of Iyengar Yoga whom I am truly honoured to have agreed to teaching us rural lot! The feedback would suggest you all felt the same. I will ensure he will come back again !
Lydia will teach separately on Saturday August 10th for a three hour morning practice. I attend classes with Lydia regularly and find her to be completely at ease in her teaching which naturally rubs off onto the student. She threads and links asanas together in clever way so that you will practice basic and more advanced poses without really being aware of your efforts. Thats a skill. This will also bring to a close the Wildwood yoga sessions until we return in September. Don’t miss it.
