I have been teaching Iyengar Yoga to beginners for over half a decade, introducing this amazing practice to hundreds of people. My courses are unique in the Forest of Dean and are beneficial to everyone; young or old, stiff or flexible, sporty or couch potato, all will benefit from the depth and refinement of the Iyengar practice of yogasana ( physical posture).
The course provides a structured introduction to the Iyengar style and ensures you establish a solid foundation in your practice to reap the true benefits of yoga. Twelve weeks of classes in two parts of six weeks of tuition.
The first six classes are designed specifically for the purpose of safely introducing the subject of yoga to you. Revolving mainly around standing poses you will immediately feel the corrective postural effects and the strengthening and opening of the body that yoga offers.
Graduating from the Foundation course to our Beginners Level 1 series you will be invited to extend your knowledge and experience gained in the first six weeks to include rotational, balancing and inverted poses. These will help cement the Iyengar methodology within the body and mind bringing further confidence, body and mental awareness and a corresponding feeling of balance and lightness.
On completion of the course you will be ready to join us at the General Level ll classes, in person or online.
